Ex-NFL Star Drops Surprising Prediction About Ashton Jeanty’s Future – You Won’t Believe What He Said!
So, here’s a head-scratcher for you: when’s the last time you saw a running back scooped up in the first round of the NFL Draft—let alone snagged at No. 6 overall? That’s right, the Las Vegas Raiders broke the mold in 2025 by selecting Ashton Jeanty, a player who absolutely obliterated college football records and now carries the hefty expectation of lighting up the NFL from Day One. Now, I know what some skeptics are whispering—“Boise State competition? Meh.” But trust me, when a former NFL back like Robert Turbin lays down the gauntlet that Jeanty’s got a real shot at Offensive Rookie of the Year, you’ve gotta sit up and take notice. Throw in Chip Kelly’s crafty playbook and Geno Smith’s rocket arm, and suddenly, the Raiders’ offense looks like a playground ready for Jeanty to run wild. Buckle up—this isn’t just a draft pick; it’s a potential game-changer.

The Las Vegas Raiders went against the norm in the 2025 NFL Draft.
It’s becoming less common to see running backs being taken in the first round, let alone in the top 10.
Then again, with Ashton Jeanty available, it was a fairly easy choice for the Raiders at No. 6 overall.
Jeanty dominated like few players in college football history, and he has the potential to do the same in his first year in the NFL.
At least, that’s how former running back Robert Turbin feels.
“[Ashton Jeanty] can win Offensive Rookie of the Year. I think that’s a realistic expectation. He has all the talent in the world to become a great player in the NFL. From that standpoint, there’s real expectation and real opportunity for him to be Offensive Rookie of the Year this year and one of the top backs in the league,” Turbin said, via NFL on CBS.

Granted, some scouts and fans were worried about Jeanty’s college competition, as he didn’t always go against high-end programs at Boise State.
Then again, there’s nothing not to love about his production, work ethic and demeanor.
He can make an impact with his legs and his hands, and he’s a willing and physical blocker.
The Raiders hired Chip Kelly as their new offensive coordinator.
He’s known for his college-like trickery, and he should have plenty of fresh thoughts and ideas on how to use his new weapon.
The Raiders’ offense should look much better now that Geno Smith will be at quarterback, and having him as a big-play threat because of his strong arm will open up a lot for Jeanty to do his thing out of the backfield.
