In a thrilling display of youthful talent, Eastern Washington’s football team kicked off their season with an electrifying scrimmage at Roos Field in Cheney last Friday. Quarterback Jared Taylor took center stage, forging a dynamic connection with an impressive roster of young receivers. Among them, redshirt freshman Boden Gardner, hailing from Mt. Spokane, shone brightly, racking up 114 yards and snagging three touchdowns, including a spectacular 80-yard catch-and-run orchestrated by Taylor. Not to be outdone, sophomore wideout Jaxon Branch also made waves, contributing six receptions for 111 yards and three touchdowns of his own. Meanwhile, sophomore QB Nate Bell showcased his skill as well, netting two touchdowns in what became a high-octane offensive showcase, with a total of seven touchdowns scored over the course of the two-hour session.
