Grizzlies Face Uncertain Future as Two Star Players Battle Mysterious Injuries
Here we go again, Grizzlies fans—can this team ever catch a break before tip-off? Just weeks out from the 2025-26 NBA season, Memphis drops the disappointing bombshell: Jaren Jackson Jr. and Zach Edey sidelined with injuries, throwing a wrench into what was supposed to be a hard-nosed Western Conference contender. Jackson’s toe is out of commission for a month or more, and Edey’s ankle puts him on ice for up to nine weeks. If that doesn’t make you wince, consider Brandon Clarke’s looming knee procedure. It raises the question—how do you build momentum when your best players keep hobbling off the court before the chase even begins? The Grizzlies were counting on strength in numbers; instead, they’re staring down the barrel of another “what if” season. Will grit and resilience pull them through, or is this yet another chapter in Memphis’s injury saga? Stay tuned—the bear has some battles ahead.

Memphis Grizzlies fans are becoming increasingly nervous that injuries are going to be a problem in 2025-26.
With only a few weeks left before the new season kicks off, the Grizzlies announced that Jaren Jackson Jr. and Zach Edey will be out of commission for a while.
Jackson has a toe injury and will miss four to six weeks, while Edey is dealing with an ankle problem and will be off the court for six to nine weeks.
This isn’t promising news for the Grizzlies, who were hoping to be one of the most intimidating teams in the West.
Grizzlies say Jaren Jackson Jr. (toe) is out 4–6 weeks and Zach Edey (ankle) 6–9 weeks.

Last season, Jackson averaged 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists on 48.8 percent from the field.
Meanwhile, Edey was good for 9.2 points and 8.3 rebounds during his rookie campaign.
He was a member of the All-Rookie first team and led all rookies with his rebounds.
Unfortunately for the Grizzlies, these aren’t the only injury problems plaguing the team.
Brandon Clarke is about to have a procedure to relieve knee problems and will miss time as well.
Injuries have ravaged the roster for the last few years, although they stayed relatively healthy last year.
But even when they were in good shape, the Grizzlies were having a tough time competing against the rest of their conference.
The hope was that they’d have their whole squad operating at 100 percent this season, but they are already experiencing issues.
Hopefully, Jackson and Edey can bounce back quickly, and the Grizzlies are able to achieve success without them.
This news doesn’t doom the team, but it certainly puts them in a tricky situation at the start of the season.
