How Courtland Sutton Shattered Franchise Records in a Titans Showdown You Can’t Miss
Isn’t it wild how one steady quarterback can change the entire narrative of a franchise? For years, the Denver Broncos have been stuck in quarterback limbo, but through all that chaos, Courtland Sutton has been the reliable constant — the guy you could count on when the chips were down. Now, with a dependable QB finally in place, Sutton’s not just catching passes; he’s climbing the ranks into Broncos lore, cracking the top 10 in receiving yards after just one Week 1 game. At 30, the clock’s ticking, sure, but if Sutton keeps racking up yards like this, could he rewrite the record books and inch closer to legends like Rod Smith and Demaryius Thomas? This season might just be the game-changer Denver—and Sutton—needed.

For years, the Denver Broncos struggled with mediocre quarterback play.
Even so, they could always count on wide receiver Courtland Sutton.
That’s why, now that he finally has a steady QB, his chances of being an all-time great for the franchise got a big boost.
As pointed out by DNVR Broncos on X, Sutton cracked the top 10 in receiving yards in Broncos history.
With 61 yards in Week 1, he reached 5,401 receiving yards, which is good for the 10th spot.

Notably, he could finish this season as high as No. 5, a spot that belongs to Ed McCaffrey with 6,200 yards.
The Broncos’ all-time leader in receiving yards is Rod Smith with 11,389, followed by Demaryius Thomas with 9,055.
Sutton turns 30 years old next month, so while he still has plenty of catching up to do, he could at least strive to get close to the top two if he stays healthy and with the team.
The Denver offense didn’t look as sharp as anticipated in the season-opening win against the Tennessee Titans, but that shouldn’t be the trend in the upcoming weeks.
Quarterback Bo Nix isn’t likely to turn over the ball as much, and there should be plenty of opportunities for Sutton to keep piling up yards, and more importantly, help Denver win some games.
