How Judah Daniels' Commitment to FSU Could Transform the Future of Seminoles Football

Judah Daniels didn’t enter the football scene this summer with a buzz or a pile of offers. Nope, he showed up at the FSU recruit camp in June as an unheralded defensive lineman from Fort Myers, carrying nothing but raw talent—and a big dream. Fast forward a few months, and here we are: Daniels has taken a leap of faith and committed to Florida State football, a program that saw something in him when others didn’t. It’s not just about the offer; it’s about loyalty, family, and believing in a player before the spotlight hits. Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing in at 260 pounds, Daniels is joining a trio of Fort Myers standouts headed to Division I programs, proving that perseverance can rewrite any narrative. Sometimes the first yes is all it takes to change everything. LEARN MORE

  • Fort Myers defensive lineman Judah Daniels has committed to Florida State football.
  • Daniels, who was unranked, received his first Division I offer from FSU after attending a recruit camp.
  • He cited the program’s loyalty and early belief in him as the primary reasons for his commitment.

Judah Daniels entered the summer of his senior year with zero Division I offers, and made the trip up to Tallahassee for a recruit camp on June 1.

And on Sept. 23, the Fort Myers defensive lineman is committed to Florida State football.

The ‘Noles were Daniels’ first offer, which came while he was at FSU’s elite camp. Daniels (6-foot-3, 260 pounds) is unranked by the major recruiting services, and he says FSU’s faith in him was the difference-maker.

“The biggest reason (I committed) is the loyalty,” Daniels told USA TODAY. “I love how they treated me like family when no one did.”

USF and FIU offered him that same summer, both after getting the chance to see him up close. Still, Daniels decided to pledge to Norvell and company. He says the fact FSU was first wasn’t lost on him.

“It mattered a lot,” Daniels said. “FSU has always been a school I’ve dreamed of playing for, so it was a no-brainer.”

Daniels now completes the Florida Big Three trinity at Fort Myers as the newest Seminole pledge, joining fellow defensive lineman Kendall Guervil (Florida commit) and offensive lineman Joel Ervin (Miami commit) as Greenies who have pledged to play at the next level.
