How Nikola Jokic Redefined Greatness and Shattered NBA Records Overnight

Ever wonder what it takes to rewrite the NBA record books while barely breaking a sweat? Nikola Jokic’s latest performance with the Denver Nuggets might just have you scratching your head—and for good reason. On a night when the Nuggets cruised to a 122-88 blowout over the Pelicans, Jokic quietly dropped a triple-double in under 30 minutes, marking his 17th such feat in league history—more than anyone else ever. It’s not just another stat line; it’s a testament to a player redefining what elite production looks like in the modern game. Grab a seat, because this isn’t your typical highlight reel—it’s a master class in efficiency, dominance, and team evolution all rolled into one dazzling display.

Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets produced 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists as his team scored its third win of the season on Wednesday, beating the New Orleans Pelicans 122-88.

It was another great night for Jokic, who made a bit of history.

Wednesday’s win marked Jokic’s 17th career triple-double while playing less than 30 minutes in the game.

That means he has the most such games in league history.

Jokic didn’t play for 30 minutes, but he did come close with a total of 27:33.

This game was a good reminder that Jokic doesn’t need to be on the court for the entire game in order to make a huge impact.

He is able to create triple-doubles nearly every night, even if he doesn’t get the most time on the floor.

So far this season, Jokic has averaged 20.3 points and a league-high 14.5 rebounds, as well as a league-high 11.3 assists.

Last year, his season average was 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.2 assists.

At this point, creating triple-doubles is simply what Jokic does, but now he is doing it in record time, too.

The fact that the Nuggets were able to win without Jokic on the floor for the whole game is nothing but good news for the team.

For years, Denver had to heavily rely on Jokic and put too much on his shoulders.

But after a busy offseason and some smart acquisitions, the Nuggets are able to give him a bit of well-deserved rest.

Things are working out well for the Nuggets so far this season, and Jokic is having another epic campaign.

The best news of all is that he’s only getting started.
