Inside Arizona’s Bold Prediction: Can Michigan Basketball Survive the Final Four Showdown?
What players do you think are the x-factors for both teams, and why?
“In the last two games, Koa Peat has looked like the unstoppable player from the season opener against Florida, and in that form – he’s a matchup nightmare. Ivan Kharchenkov has become far more of an offensive threat than anyone could have expected, and teams don’t seem to know how to defend him. For Michigan, it’s obviously Yaxel Lendeborg since someone with that size and athleticism who can score from all over has to be a big focus of the scout. But I think one of the Wolverines’ guards could also be in line for a big game if too much attention is paid to the frontcourt.”
How do you expect Arizona to deal with the atmosphere/pressure of playing on such a big stage?
“Arizona looked a little shaky against Purdue but never appeared rattled, which has been the case all season despite starting three freshmen. I also think the fact that Arizona doesn’t shoot a lot of three-pointers takes away the potential of the weird sight lines that come from playing in a dome being an issue.”
