Bill Belichick’s relationship may be causing a little uneasiness at his place of employment.
Belichick has been in a relationship with Jordon Hudson, a 24-year-old former college cheerleader and beauty queen, since 2023. Hudson has been spotted at several public appearances with Belichick over the last few months, and has been taking an active role behind-the-scenes as the legendary coach prepares for his first season at the University of North Carolina.
Following Sunday’s awkward CBS News interview during which Hudson interrupted Belichick and reporter Tony Dokoupil over a question about how the couple met–and reportedly also interfered on other occasions throughout the session–there’s reportedly concern at UNC.
According to TMZ Sports, a source at UNC says there is a “growing sense this could become a problem.”
“The whole ordeal also isn’t sitting well with Bill’s employers — we’re told folks at UNC are now concerned about Hudson’s influence on Belichick’s tenure as the head football coach in Chapel Hill … especially with her, essentially, taking on a role as his manager,” TMZ wrote.
Prior to the CBS interview, there were already reports that Belichick requested Hudson be copied on any emails sent to his UNC address.
“Thank you for the e-mail. I am including Jordon on this email so she can keep up with our postings. Can you include her on anything you send to me? Thank you,” Belichick reportedly wrote in one correspondence.
By all accounts, Hudson has plenty of influence over the 73-year-old Belichick’s image and and more. Back in February, reporter Pablo Torre said the Bridgewater State alum was the eight-time Super Bowl champion’s “de facto agent.”
“[Hudson is] the person who you need to go through to book Bill Belichick for a Super Bowl commercial or for the other commitments he has as a multi-platform personality. She’s the gateway,” Torre said on his “Pablo Torre Finds Out” podcast. “So in this case, what I have been told reliably, is that Jordon happened to then use that power to be in the commercial as well.”
All of this will be worth keeping an eye on in the coming months.
