Snuggerud was one of the Golden Gophers’ leading scorers in three consecutive seasons and looked like a good and borderline impactful top-nine forward right away with the Blues in the spring. He was one of the hottest prospects in hockey in his post-draft season, going from B-plus prospect to A-minus (or close) with a rare 50-point freshman season. He didn’t get back there as a sophomore after linemates Logan Cooley and Matthew Knies both turned pro, but he still scored 20-plus goals for a second time and was the Golden Gophers’ best forward for me, even if he finished third on the team in points. He then set career highs in goals (24) and points (51) as a junior to lead the Golden Gophers in points by a dozen as a junior last year before registering eight points in 14 combined regular season and playoff games in the NHL.
