Is Jordan Love the NFL’s Dark Horse MVP Contender No One Saw Coming?

So here’s a head-scratcher for you: How can a Green Bay Packers quarterback, under the microscope and often the scapegoat with a shaky 2-1-1 record, actually be putting up MVP-level stats? Jordan Love might just be doing the unthinkable — threading needles and racking up numbers like a seasoned pro, despite his offensive line looking like a revolving door and key receivers sidelined with injuries. Sure, he’s had his share of eye-roll moments and throws that make you wince, but the stats don’t lie — and if he keeps this up, we’re not just talking about a good season; we’re talking MVP territory. It’s a wild ride watching a guy defy the narrative so far this year. Could Love be the dark horse MVP we never saw coming? Let’s dive in and see why he deserves way more credit than he’s been given.

The Green Bay Packers entered the season with a Super Bowl-caliber roster.

That’s why it’s disappointing to see that they’re 2-1-1 heading into their bye.

Critics will be quick to point the finger at quarterback Jordan Love, who, along with head coach Matt LaFleur, usually takes most of the blame.

Nevertheless, as pointed out by Felipe Reis Aceti, Love is on pace to post MVP-caliber numbers.

If he keeps it up, he will finish the season with 4,250 passing yards, 34 touchdowns and four interceptions.

Of course, that last stat might not be sustainable, especially given his tendency to put the ball in harm’s way, but it speaks volumes about how good he’s been so far.

Also, considering the fact that his offensive line has been in flux, it’s even more impressive.

Elgton Jenkins has struggled to make the adjustment to center, and being without Aaron Banks and Zach Tom has held them back somewhat.

Yet, Love continues to find his receivers, even with Christian Watson and Jayden Reed sidelined by injuries.

Love doesn’t always make the right decision, and one could argue he’s cost his team in the past.

But he deserves more credit than he’s gotten for most of his NFL career.

Numbers don’t lie, and Love is posting some of the best in the league, and he should be able to add to them when Green Bay returns to action against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6.
