Ja Morant Breaks Silence: What He Really Thinks About Grizzlies' Coaching Staff Will Shock Fans

So here’s the rub: Ja Morant, the electrifying heartbeat of the Memphis Grizzlies, just threw a curveball after a tough loss to the Lakers. You ever wonder what happens when a star player’s frustration spills out not just about his own game, but points an eyebrow squarely at the coaching staff? Morant’s postgame wasn’t your usual locker room hum. With a rare off-night — missing shots like it was dodgeball practice — he dropped a cryptic “Go ask the coaching staff” like a mic drop moment. Is this just a player having a bad day, or the first ripple in a storm that could shake the very foundations of Memphis basketball? Buckle up, because if those cryptic words mean a brewing rift, this saga could twist the Grizzlies’ season into something nobody saw coming… and that, my friends, is the kind of drama that keeps sports thrilling beyond the final buzzer.

The Memphis Grizzlies were outplayed by the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night, and Ja Morant wasn’t happy about it.

Morant didn’t hide his emotions when speaking to the press following the 117-112 loss, repeatedly telling reporters that they should talk to the coaching staff instead of him.

“Go ask the coaching staff,” Morant said when asked what went wrong against Lakers. “You can ask them. They had a whole spiel in [the locker room]. Go ask the coaching staff why. According to them, [to get a different outcome] probably don’t play me. That’s basically what the message was.”

Morant had a bad night, going 3-of-14 from the field and 0-of-6 from beyond the three-point line.

It’s not often that Morant only scores eight points, but that’s what he did, along with four rebounds and just one assist.

But Morant wasn’t only upset with himself, because he is clearly holding a grudge against the coaching staff and their choices, too.

Perhaps they were able to talk later and hash things out, or Morant may still be disgruntled.

Rumors swirled around the web immediately following these comments from the Grizzlies star.

If he’s truly angry at the team and doesn’t want to play for Memphis and its coaching staff anymore, it could create serious drama and a wild trade deadline

Morant had a bad night, and he’s experienced injuries more often lately, but he’s still a popular and spirited point guard.

If he decides that he’s done with the Grizzlies, a number of other teams will take a run at signing him.

Fans will be closely monitoring Morant in the days ahead to see if his attitude has changed.

His brief response on Friday night has a lot of people talking and wondering what’s next for him.
