Yabusele just finished his first season with the Sixers, but it’ll be his last.
He couldn’t pass up on a deal from the New York Knicks, and he is ready to start playing hard alongside Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns.
During his season with the 76ers, Yabusele averaged 11.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.
Along with McCain, he was one of the few bright spots during a very difficult and disheartening season.
Injuries affected just about everyone on the team, including McCain.
Yabusele was able to play in 70 games, starting in 43 of them.
That many starts may not have been the original plan, but the team had to adapt to numerous physical problems, and Yabusele was willing and eager to help.
He became close with McCain and the two got along very well.
Now they will be battling each other on the court during the new season, with both players having a lot to prove.
The Knicks may be in a better position, but the 76ers could have a massive turnaround.
If McCain, Joel Embiid, Paul George, and others stay healthy, the team shouldn’t be counted out.
McCain and Yabusele will remain friends, but they will now also be enemies on the court.
