That image alone tells you this isn’t your run-of-the-mill training routine. With Najee Harris out, the Steelers’ backfield feels the seismic shift, and Warren is seizing his moment, flipping the script on traditional workouts to craft an edge that’s as fierce as it is unconventional. The Pittsburgh Steelers have undergone a significant backfield transformation this offseason, with Najee Harris departing as a free agent and leaving the door wide open for a new lead back.

Jaylen Warren has stepped into that void with remarkable determination, completely revamping his training approach as he prepares for what could be a breakout campaign.

Warren recently revealed some unconventional workout methods, including one particularly eye-catching session that demonstrated his commitment to excellence.

“Steelers RB Jaylen Warren trains by running with a 200-pound soccer goal attached to his body. Warren is ready to dominate this season,” Dov Kleiman wrote on X.

The intense training footage shows Warren dragging the heavy soccer goal strapped to his back, a testament to his power and dedication.

This type of preparation reflects his understanding of the opportunity ahead and his willingness to push physical boundaries to seize it.

Entering his fourth NFL season, Warren has transformed his training philosophy.

Traditional hill runs and old-school weight sessions have been replaced with a more strategic approach focused on maintaining health, explosiveness and consistency throughout a long season.

Despite battling injuries during the 2024 campaign, Warren managed to accumulate 821 total yards and emerged as Pittsburgh’s most reliable running back in crucial moments.

His combination of patience, balance and blocking ability has earned the trust of both head coach Mike Tomlin and offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.

The Steelers have assembled a fresh running back room around Warren, adding rookie Kaleb Johnson and veteran Kenneth Gainwell to complement his skills.

With Aaron Rodgers now leading the offense and D.K. Metcalf headlining the receivers, Warren’s emergence as the primary back could be the piece that balances Pittsburgh’s attack.
