Kevin Durant Puts the Brakes on Surprising Trade Talks—What’s Behind the Decision?
The Phoenix Suns find themselves in a precarious position as Kevin Durant continues to express clear preferences about his future.
Recent reports indicate he has no interest in joining the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Durant reportedly identified three teams as an acceptable destination: the Miami Heat, Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs.
To add to the rumors, Hardwood Paroxysm shared that Durant recently declined a three-team deal arranged by the Timberwolves and involving the Brooklyn Nets.
“League sources have said the Nets were brought in as a potential third-team in a deal construct, which would have helped move money and contracts to help both teams reshape their rosters. (No idea what they were getting or sending, but I would speculatively bet Nic Claxton to Phoenix was part of those talks.) But then KD did what it is his right, and sent out word that he doesn’t want to play there,” the outlet said, via NBA Central.
