Kirk Herbstreit Opens Up About Tragic Loss That Shakes Ohio State Football Community
The Clark County Coroner’s Office confirmed on Thursday that Christman’s death was caused by cardiomyopathy, a form of heart disease, along with cardiac arrhythmia, an irregular heartbeat.
“The members of the Ohio State football program are saddened to learn of the passing of Ben Christman, a member of our team in 2021 and 2022. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and those who knew Ben well,” Ohio State football said following his passing.
Herbstreit, who played at Ohio State and has a son who had to step away from the game due to a heart issue, is deeply saddened by his passing.
