Mario Chalmers Drops Surprising NBA PG Mt. Rushmore That Will Ignite Debates Everywhere

If you ever wondered who truly rules the point guard kingdom, Mario Chalmers has handed us a lineup that demands a second look—and maybe a debate over the water cooler. Picture this: Magic Johnson, Chris Paul, John Stockton, Jason Kidd, and Kyrie Irving standing tall on NBA Mt. Rushmore, each carved with a legacy that’s both profound and, frankly, a little surprising. No Steph Curry? That eyebrow raise alone tells a story, doesn’t it? Having danced on hardwood courts with some of these legends, Chalmers brings more than just stats to the table; he brings lived experience and respect forged in the heat of the game. So, what does it really take to be one of the all-time greats at the point? Let’s dive into the minds and moments that shaped this elite club and see why Chalmers’ picks might just be the perfect mix of savvy and sentiment.

Mario Chalmers was a respected and exciting point guard during his nine years in the NBA, and he knows a thing or two about what it takes to play that position.

He was recently asked about his Mt. Rushmore of point guards, and gave a list of some of the strongest players in NBA history.

“Magic, CP, John Stockton, I got between Kyrie, because I’m a Kyrie fan, and then J Kidd because J Kidd was a real point guard,” Chalmers said.

Magic Johnson, Chris Paul, John Stockton, Jason Kidd, and Kyrie Irving – they are five of the best to ever do it and Chalmers was smart to celebrate them.

He surely learned a lot from all of them, and even played against Paul, Irving, and Kidd.

As for Johnson and Stockton, Chalmers would surely attest that he wouldn’t have had the career he did if it weren’t for them.

Chalmers averaged 8.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.7 assists on 41.7 percent from the field during his nine seasons.

He spent most of his time with the Miami Heat, where he won two championships, before also playing for the Memphis Grizzlies at the end of his career.

He has still played basketball since leaving the NBA, and pops up on podcasts and shows to share his thoughts and feelings about the game.

These five point guards showed the rest of the world just what it takes to be the best in this role.

Because of that, Chalmers isn’t the only one who would pick them for a Mt. Rushmore of PGs.
