Meet the Texas A&M Sophomore Shocking the SEC and Dominating Pro Football Focus Rankings
There’s something electric about Texas A&M’s 2025 wide receiver lineup that grabs your attention from the jump. Coach Mike Elko, alongside WR coach Holmon Wiggins, made a savvy move by bolstering the squad with KC Concepcion and the lightning-fast Mario Craver from the transfer portal. Now, while Concepcion often gets the nod as the top dog in this receiving crew, it’s Craver who’s quietly amassing yards and touchdowns — leading the team with 236 yards and three scores. After jumping ship from Mississippi State, Craver’s speed and agility have been a game-changer for the Aggies’ air attack, perfectly syncing with QB Marcel Reed’s sharp arm. Early-season performances have fans buzzing, especially with Craver’s knack for breaking free and making explosive plays — like that jaw-dropping 72-yard touchdown fueled by backup QB Miles O’Neill’s precision. The buzz isn’t just local chatter either; Pro Football Focus ranks Craver as the SEC’s highest-graded wideout as the Aggies prepare for a monumental clash against No. 8 Notre Dame. This showdown will truly put Craver and the Aggies’ revamped receiver corps to the ultimate test. Intrigued? LEARN MORE

Texas A&M’s 2025 wide receiver rotation is one of the most exciting units in the country after coach Mike Elko and WR coach Holmon Wiggins added KC Concepcion and Mario Craver from the transfer portal. While many, including myself, see Concepcion as the No. 1 wide receiver on the roster, Craver currently leads the team with 236 yards and three touchdowns.
After transferring from Mississippi State this offseason, Craver had been one of Elko’s top targets this offseason, knowing his elite speed and quickness would immediately impact the Aggies’ passing game, paired with starting quarterback Marcel Reed, who has passed for 509 yards and seven touchdowns during the Aggies’ first two wins against UTSA and Utah State.
Right out of the gate, Concepcion and Craver have given the Aggie fan base hope, knowing that the wide receiver corps now features players who can separate in coverage compared to last season’s consistent issues. Craver’s ability to create plays in space resulted in two 20-plus-yard touchdowns against UTSA, while his 72-yard score off an absolute dime from backup quarterback Miles O’Neill against Utah State showed off his elite speed.
According to Pro Football Focus, Mario Craver is the highest-rated wide receiver in the SEC entering Week 3, heading into South Bend for Saturday night’s massive road test vs. No. 8 Notre Dame. Earning a prolific 89.3 overall grade, Craver’s first real test of the season comes against Notre Dame’s impressive cornerback rotation.
