Inter Miami completed their second preseason friendly this Saturday, securing a 2-1 victory over Atletico Nacional in Colombia in a match that delivered drama until the final minute. The hosts had taken the early lead, but Lionel Messi’s team turned the game around in the second half.

During the first half, Inter Miami were outplayed by their opponents. Atletico Nacional were the more aggressive side in attack and created numerous scoring opportunities. In that context, Juan Manuel Rengifo made the difference, opening the scoring with a superb shot from outside the box.

However, things changed drastically after the break. Atletico Nacional made almost a full lineup change for the second half, and the Herons capitalized on it. Messi led his team, which controlled possession and, after several missed chances, equalized through Luis Suarez. Then, in the dying minutes, an own goal by Rivero handed the MLS side the victory.

Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano used this friendly to give some of the team’s new players valuable minutes. German Berterame came on in the second half to replace Luis Suarez, while Micael also made his first appearance in defense.
