The Dodgers remain the overwhelming favorite in the division, and for good reason. Opta’s projections peg the Dodgers at 98.9 wins; the Giants and Padres are next at 79.9 and 79.3, respectively. They might not win the division by 20 games, but it won’t be particularly close.
Fagan’s Bold Prediction: As Shohei Ohtani checks items off the ever-evaporating list of things he has yet to accomplish in baseball, the right-hander makes a run at the NL Cy Young Award. He finished fourth in the AL back in 2022, but if Paul Skenes misses some starts this year, don’t be at all surprised if Ohtani claims that hardware, too.
