Whatever the Yankees need most is always one of the hottest topics leading up to the trade deadline, and this year is no different. The position has been a sore spot in the Bronx for several years now, with the Josh Donaldson acquisition proving to be a total flop and DJ LeMahieu’s sharp decline on both sides of the ball leading to a clogged-up roster without an every-day solution at the hot corner. Utilityman Oswaldo Cabrera was a reasonable temporary solution, but he suffered a fractured ankle in May and is not an option at the moment.
