Mystery Illness Sidelines Cowboys' Bryan Anger—Could This Shake Up the Season?

Friday’s practice session saw just a single tweak from the Cowboys — punter Bryan Anger joined the sidelines, sidelined by illness. That addition bumped the total of non-participants to four, including familiar faces nursing injuries. Alijah Clark’s still dealing with rib issues, Jack Sanborn’s groin isn’t cooperating, and Donovan Wilson’s elbow and shoulder continue to bother him, keeping all three off the field once again. On the limited side, DeMarvion Overshown, Ajani Cornelius, Shavon Revel, Tyler Smith, Juanyeh Thomas, and Perrion Winfrey went through partial reps, each managing their own ailments. Interestingly, Cooper Beebe gracefully returned to full practice for the second day in a row — a bright spot amid the roster woes. Beebe, Revel, Winfrey, and Overshown all find themselves navigating that critical 21-day return-to-practice window, a period that can make or break a team’s Monday Night Football readiness against the Cardinals. The Cowboys are inching toward kickoff, and every detail counts. LEARN MORE

The Cowboys made only one change to their practice report on Friday: They added punter Bryan Anger with an illness. He was one of four players who didn’t practice.

Safety Alijah Clark (ribs), linebacker Jack Sanborn (groin) and safety Donovan Wilson (elbow/shoulder) did not practice again.

Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown (knee), offensive tackle Ajani Cornelius (knee/knee), cornerback Shavon Revel (knee), right guard Tyler Smith (knee), safety Juanyeh Thomas (migraine) and defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey (back) remained limited.

Center Cooper Beebe (ankle) had a full practice for a second consecutive day.

Beebe, Revel, and Winfrey, like Overshown, are in their 21-day return-to-practice window.

The Cowboys play the Cardinals on Monday Night Football.
