A University of Nebraska is turning heads online as the football program finishes up spring practice.

For the first time ever, Nebraska football will not hold its annual spring game as usual. Instead, the event will be formatted like the NFL Pro Bowl, with 7-on-7 and skills competitions comprising part of the newly-created “Husker Games.” There will also be some full-pad scrimmaging involving third and fourth-string players who need additional reps.

The all-day affair this Saturday will also include a spring soccer match against Wyoming, a spring volleyball exhibition against Kansas and a number of campus tours.

Additionally, there will be a flag football game between Midland University and a Nebraska intramural all-star team to promote the growing game of women’s flag football.

Ahead of this massive day on campus, Nebraska cheerleader Danielle Blum is going viral. Blum just finished supporting the men’s basketball team as it won the inaugural College Basketball Crown tournament in Las Vegas.

“Thank you @huskercheersquad & @cbbcrown for the opportunity of a lifetime and CONGRATS to @huskermbb for bringing home the CROWN!!!👑🏀🎲🤑💕🌴🎰⭐️,” Blum captioned an Instagram post from the Crown.

A Wahoo, Nebraska native, Blum is finishing up her junior year at her in-state university.

“Feeling so grateful to be a part of this team, this program, and this University! Can’t express how much I am looking forward to this 2024-2025 season!! Here’s to YEAR 3⭐️⭐️⭐️,” Blum wrote at the end of the 2023-24 school year last May.

In the classroom, she’s a graphic design major, according to her LinkedIn. Blum is also a member of the Chi Omega Sorority.

In the meantime, Nebraska football will close out spring ball this weekend ahead of what is looking like a much-anticipated 2025 season coming off the program’s first bowl appearance in eight years.
