With one notable exception, there wasn’t expected to be a lot of intrigue when it came to the Cleveland Browns facing off against the Las Vegas Raiders.
You’d assume the headline would be the Browns offense with Shedeur Sanders making his first start. But the beauty of football is that you need to expect the unexpected.
The Browns defense showed up in a big way, sacking Geno Smith 10 times in Cleveland’s 24-10 victory. It was the most sacks the Browns have had in a game since Nov. 18, 1984 (when they had 11 against the Atlanta Falcons) and the most for any team since the Seattle Seahawks had 11 against the New York Giants on Oct. 2, 2023.
