GM Patrik Allvin’s decision to eventually circle back on Boeser was smart. Considering the lack of high-end top-six forwards available, re-signing Boeser at a reasonable $7.25 million cap hit was the best, most efficient way for the club to deploy its cap room. Boeser isn’t a perfect player — he’s a slow skater and doesn’t drive play — but he’s averaged 30 goals per 82 games over his NHL career. He’s evolved into a net-front scoring ace, proved that he’s a playoff performer in the 2024 postseason and is especially potent on the power-play.
