As a head coach, Saban went 3-2 against the Buckeyes. He beat lost his first game against the Buckeyes while coaching the Spartans in the 1990s, before winning his last two.
While at Alabama his team got knocked out by Ohio State in the first-ever College Football Playoff. But they avenged that loss a few years later in the 2020-21 national title game in what would be Saban’s final national championship.
