Trump’s passion for sports are well-documented. Long before he was a politician, he tried to make professional football teams a part of his portfolio. He spent decades trying and failing to get his hands on an NFL franchise and he helped build the USFL in the 1980s while serving as owner of the New Jersey Generals.
