Nick Wright Exposes Shocking Flaw Threatening Steelers’ Season Success
So here we are, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers faceplant in Week 8 at home against the Green Bay Packers — again. Did anyone else see that second-half takeover from Green Bay and think, “Wait, isn’t this supposed to be Pittsburgh’s turf?” Two straight losses and 56 points scored over those games might sound decent on paper, but boy, does it mask a glaring rot in the defense. Nick Wright hit the nail on the head, questioning how a defense loaded with star talent and led by a defensive guru like Mike Tomlin could be flopping this badly—unforgivable doesn’t even begin to cover it. Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers is playing the kind of football you’d expect — sharp, consistent, nothing out-of-the-ordinary for a top-tier QB. So what’s really going on here? Are the Steelers’ fans screaming into the void, or is this just another late-season drama in the making? Let’s dive in.

The Pittsburgh Steelers needed a strong performance in Week 8 at home against the Green Bay Packers, but they didn’t get it.
Green Bay took over in the second half and put a dent in Pittsburgh’s AFC North lead.
It was a second consecutive loss for the Steelers, who did score 56 points in the two games.
With that in mind, analyst Nick Wright pointed out the biggest current issue for Pittsburgh.
“When Mike Tomlin is your head coach, in theory, you shouldn’t need the highest-paid defense in the history of pro football to have a great defense. They gave that to him anyway, but for the defense to be this bad with that many star players on it and a defensive-minded coach is unforgivable,” Wright said.
The Steelers don't have an Aaron Rodgers problem, they have a defense problem.

As Wright also said, quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been about as good as anybody could have asked for.
Pittsburgh is scoring an unexpected 25.0 points per game, but it is also giving up an uncharacteristic 25.0 points per game, which is 22nd in the NFL.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love threw for 360 yards and three touchdowns, which was even better than the 342 yards and three touchdowns Joe Flacco posted for the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7 against the Steelers.
This was not supposed to be a common occurrence, especially after trading for cornerback Jalen Ramsey in the offseason, and the Steelers need to find a solution if they want to end their long playoff-win drought.
