“Notre Dame QB Shocks Fans with Unexpected Transfer Announcement!”
Angeli, a three-star prospect in the class of 2022, served as a backup during his three years in South Bend. He was third-string as a freshman and then was the No. 2 behind Sam Hartman in 2023 and Riley Leonard last season. The New Jersey native and graduate transfer will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
Angeli completed 58-of-80 passes for 772 yards, 10 touchdowns and one interception with the Fighting Irish. His brightest moment came in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Orange Bowl back in January, when Angeli was called on to relieve Leonard in the second quarter and responded by completing 6-of-7 passes for 44 yards and leading Notre Dame on a critical field goal drive.
