Nuno Reveals Shocking Strategy to Win Back Lost Fans—What It Means for the Future
West Ham’s recent troubles at the London Stadium have reached a boiling point, with Nuno Espirito Santo openly admitting the urgent need to reconnect with their disenchanted fans after another dismal showing. A second-half strike from Mathias Jensen, following Igor Thiago’s opener, sealed a 2-0 defeat to Brentford—a result that barely scratches the surface of West Ham’s lackluster performance, which saw Thiago’s potential second goal chalked off for offside. The Hammers are now staring down the barrel of their fifth consecutive home defeat—a dubious milestone they’ve hit only once before. Nuno’s candid reflection reveals a squad losing its grip: after a promising start, composure slipped away, and Brentford’s physicality turned the tide. The challenge? To seize control fast enough to win back the standing of loyal supporters and halt a disturbing slide as they prepare for a Friday night clash with Leeds. This is about more than points; it’s about pride, momentum, and that elusive spark to rekindle hope at the London Stadium.

West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo says the Hammers must ‘bring our fans back’ after a sparsely-populated London Stadium booed them off against Brentford.
Goals in each half from Igor Thiago and Mathias Jensen gave the Bees a win that could, and should, have been by a bigger margin.
Thiago had a second goal ruled out for offside as Brentford dominated and West Ham lost a fifth successive home game for the second time in their history.
Nuno said: “That was tough. Not just for me. It was tough for our fans, for our players, for everybody.
“The first 15 minutes things were clicking and the team were organised and combining well. After that we lost composure.
“Credit to Brentford, a physical team that put us under problems. Throw-ins, corners and the monentum of the game changed.
“Every day we are learning. Every moment. We’re not going to sleep.
“It’s a challenge for all of us. It’s up to us to change the momentum and bring our fans back to support us. Win our individual duels. In four days time we need a big improvement.”
The Hammers, 19th in the table with one win so far, face Leeds on Friday night.
