Ohio State’s football program has finalized its decision on a White House visit following its national championship season.

The Buckeyes are coming off a national title-winning season in 2024. Ohio State went 10-2 in the regular season, but won four straight College Football Playoff games to win the national championship. Ryan Day’s team took down Tennessee, Oregon, Texas and Notre Dame on way to a championship. 

Ohio State has been invited to visit Donald Trump at the White House following the national title-winning season. But will the Buckeyes be going?

Ryan Day confirmed that Ohio State will be visiting President Trump at the White House to celebrate the national championship season.

The Buckeyes will be visiting the White House on April 14. Day called the visit a great “honor.”

“Yeah, it’s an honor to be invited. We were formally invited,” Day said. “I remember growing up and watching the national championship teams go to the White House. I always looked at that, like, ‘Man, what an honor that would be.’ So, it’s part of the celebration of our team. … Looking forward to getting that all planned out.”

CBS Sports had previously reported that Ohio State would be visiting the White House.

The current White House has strong Ohio State ties. Vice President J.D. Vance is a Buckeyes football fan and Ohio State graduate. 

Ohio State will be honored by President Trump, Vice President Vance and the rest of the administration next month.
