Last week, college football‘s governing body denied Colorado’s request for a joint spring practices and a scrimmage vs. Syracuse due to three main factors: the late timing, a “recruiting advantage” and “potential academic impact.”
The NCAA added that it would be open to discussing “a concept that could permit joint spring practices in future seasons.” But for right now, the FBS oversight committee deems it illegal.
That didn’t sit right with the Cowboys head coach, who had planned on doing something similar with former Big 12 rival Oklahoma this year.
