The NFL is just about to welcome a myriad of talent to its ranks.

The 2025 NFL Draft is just one day away, and with it, hundreds of young players will look to make a name for themselves and pursue their lifelong dreams.

Notably, this draft class is pretty stacked at multiple positions, including running back.

That’s why several teams could drive away from the recent trend of not taking running backs in the first round.

As of now, Ashton Jeanty and Omarion Hampton are projected to be first-round selections, and TreVeyon Henderson could also sneak his way up in the first round.

With that in mind, Hampton was asked about his favorite NFL running back to watch.

Talking to SiriusXM NFL Radio at the NFL Scouting Combine a couple of months ago, the UNC standout admitted to being a big fan of Houston Texans star Joe Mixon.

Mixon is no longer in his prime, but he’s still a serviceable back who has made a living out thanks to his craftiness and ability to get to the endzone.

The same can be said of the young Tar Heel.

Hampton is currently projected to be taken in the early 20s.

He’s coming off posting one of the most impressive seasons by any running back in recent college football history.

His ability to make noise out of the backfield or as a pass-catcher make him a perennial scoring threat, and chances are he would be the first running back off the board in any draft that didn’t feature a player of Jeanty’s caliber.
