Nothing gets to Bob
Playoff Bob did the Canes in again.
Two years after giving up six goals in a four-game sweep of the Canes, Bobrovsky was sensational, especially in the first period, when he made back-to-back huge saves on Aho’s breakaway and Jarvis’ one-timer.
Displeased by the NHL allowing a goal off Aho’s skate in the final seconds of the first period, Bobrovsky didn’t let it distract him from the task at hand in the second.

Sure, he was helped by an early goal by Greer following a sensational setup from Niko Mikkola, but Bobrovsky followed four saves on a first-period power play with another three on a big second-period power play. In all, he stopped 10 shots on Carolina’s 26 attempts in the period, four of which were of the high-danger variety. He also absorbed Andrei Svechnikov skating through the crease and extending his left hip into his head.
