Paul Finebaum Drops Shocking Prediction on Arch Manning’s Future at Ohio State—What It Means for College Football’s Biggest Rivalries

The Longhorns are one of several college football contenders making a change under center in 2025. With Quinn Ewers going to the NFL, Manning will run Steve Sarkisian’s offense. He’ll start the season with a monumental Week 1 showdown against Ohio State.

Finebaum doesn’t expect Texas to skip a beat in the transition. Furthermore, the ESPN analyst suggested that Manning might have led the Longhorns to the National Championship Game had he played last postseason.

“There is nothing finer than Arch Manning starting at Texas. It’s long overdue,” Finebaum said on Tuesday’s SportsCenter. “I think Arch Manning should have come in in the Cotton Bowl loss to Ohio State, and I think there’s a chance that that game could have gone differently. But he is going to bring Texas within a whisker of perhaps another run at a national championship.”
