Ewers did lead Texas to the College Football Playoff semifinals last year, so it’s not like he was a bad college quarterback. And Arch Manning was a true freshman and then redshirt freshman. It’s possible – likely, even – that he’s much better now than he was heading into the 2024 and 2023 seasons.
Still, it’s interesting that some fans are having this reaction to Quinn Ewers’ performance on Sunday.
