Robert Kraft Reveals Shocking Truth Behind Turbulent Last Two Seasons

You know, sometimes in sports—and heck, in life—it feels like the clock just stops ticking in your favor. Take the New England Patriots, for instance. For nearly twenty years, they were the NFL’s juggernaut: Belichick scheming on the sidelines, Brady threading needles on the field, and a defense that could shut down just about anybody. But then, poof—the magic faded, and since Brady packed his bags for Tampa Bay, the Patriots’ star hasn’t shone quite as bright. So, what’s the deal? Robert Kraft isn’t coy about it anymore. In his own words, the past two seasons have been the toughest of his entire 31-year run owning the team. Yikes. Is this just a rough patch, or the start of a whole new era? Let’s dig into why Kraft believes it’s high time for change—and why the road back to glory might be twistier than we all hoped.

The New England Patriots were the team to beat in the NFL for the better part of two decades.

With Bill Belichick calling the shots and Tom Brady pulling the strings of the offense, plus a perennially strong defense, the team always seemed to have a shot to go the distance.

That hasn’t been the case since No. 12 left Foxboro.

The Belichick-Brady debate moved in favor of the quarterback once he won a Super Bowl in his first year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, all while his former team struggled to get by.

That’s why Robert Kraft believes enough is enough.

In a recent interview, the renowned business mogul admitted that the past couple of years have been the worst in his entire tenure in charge of the organization (via Savage Sports).

Kraft wanted Jerod Mayo to be Belichick’s successor and had nothing but love and praise for him.

Unfortunately, it only took a year to realize that the former player wasn’t ready to take the reins of the team.

He made the rounds over and over for all the wrong reasons.

Then, with Mike Vrabel up for grabs, it was a somewhat easy decision to bring him back to the organization and give him the keys to the ignition.

The Patriots did a solid job of fixing the flawed roster Belichick put together in the final stretch of his days in charge of the team.

They’ve added plenty of talent around their new promising quarterback.

Still, it might be a while before they return to Super Bowl contention.
