Scott Frost’s Nebraska Remark Sparks Wild Reactions—What Did He Really Mean?
It’s not unfair to say that Scott Frost‘s tenure at Nebraska was mostly a disaster.
As exciting as it was to see the former Huskers QB return to Lincoln to revive his alma mater after impressive success at UCF, Nebraska’s football program simply failed to launch with Frost at the helm.
But those five seasons taught him something, the 50-year-old coach said: “Don’t take the wrong job.”
“I said I wouldn’t leave [UCF] unless it was someplace you could win a national championship,” Frost admitted, via The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. “I got tugged in a direction to try to help my alma mater and didn’t really want to do it. It wasn’t a good move. I’m lucky to get back to a place where I was a lot happier.”
