Seahawks Shake Up Secondary: Julian Love Lands on IR, Rookie Jerrick Reed Steps Into Spotlight

It’s been a rough patch for the Seahawks’ secondary, with safety Julian Love sidelined for the past month—and now, unfortunately, he’s out for at least another four games. This week’s practice took a harsh toll when Love aggravated a hamstring injury, forcing Seattle to juggle the roster just ahead of their Sunday night showdown with the Commanders. Enter Jerrick Reed, who’s been patiently waiting on the practice squad but now steps into the active roster spotlight, filling Love’s sizeable cleats. And that’s not the only shuffle going on—fullback Robbie Ouzts gets the green light back from injured reserve, while tight end Eric Saubert heads the other way. To patch up the offensive unit, wideouts Cody White and Ricky White have been called up from the practice squad, especially crucial given Cooper Kupp’s shaky status and the absence of two other receivers.
