Ohio State Buckeyes football coach Ryan Day has been called out on X for following a “controversial” account.

Day, who is reportedly a registered Democrat, announced this week that he and the Ohio State Buckeyes were accepting their decision to the White House. The Buckeyes are coming off a College Football Playoff national title-winning season, in which they took down Tennessee, Oregon, Texas and Notre Dame.

The Ohio State Buckeyes head coach said it was an “honor” to be invited. Many other championship-winning teams, including the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Dodgers, have also accepted their invitations.

“It’s an honor to be invited,” Day said. “I remember growing up and watching the national championship teams go to the White House. I always looked at that, like, ‘Man, what an honor that would be.’ So, it’s part of the celebration of our team. I’m looking forward to getting that all planned out.”

Later on in the week, though, Day has been called out for following the controversial “Libs of TikTok” account. The account is known for trolling the left and pushing a lot of right-leaning agendas.

“Just noticed Ryan Day, lifetime registered Democrat, follows Libs of TikTok,” AthletesInSpace wrote.

College football fans have taken to social media to weigh in on the account following news.

“My idea of Lib Ryan Day was definitely hampered a bit by his acception of the white house invitation; although knowing how he operates, it’s equally likely that he left it up to the team captains,” one fan wrote.

One fan added: “Yeah I don’t really care about that tbh he’s not going to shake the boat and decline an invite as one of the highest paid state employees in a 60% red state.”

Another fan wrote: “Yikes that’s disappointing.”

“I had to confirm this. That’s going to be a YIKES from me, dawg,” The Rooster, a popular Ohio-based political blog, wrote.

Ryan Day can follow whoever he wants, but when you’re the head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes, everything is going to be scrutinized.
