The Green Bay Packers didn’t make a move at the NFL trade deadline.

That was a bit of a surprise, considering that tight end Tucker Kraft suffered a season-ending knee injury in their Week 9 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

That’s why Bleacher Report named one Packers star among the losers of the trade deadline.

“Loser: QB Jordan Love,” the B/R NFL Staff wrote. “While Kraft’s injury opens the door for [Luke] Musgrave, it also takes away Jordan Love’s most trusted target. Kraft had racked up 489 yards and six touchdowns on 32 receptions while providing a 148.6 passer rating when targeted. [Cleveland] Browns tight end David Njoku, who will be a free agent in the spring, loomed as a logical replacement for Kraft, given his athleticism and after-the-catch ability. However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Browns were never inclined to move him. Maybe Musgrave will thrive in his new opportunity. If not, Love will wish that Green Bay had gotten him a little help at the deadline.”

The Packers seemed to have faith in Musgrave, who entered the league in the same year as Kraft and was initially in a timeshare with him.

Perhaps they believe that Musgrave can be as efficient once he develops the same chemistry with Love.

While he hasn’t been asked to do much, he has shown promise as a pass catcher.

Also, the Packers may just want to trust the guys they already have, with more than enough weapons in the passing game, even without Kraft.

Wide receiver Christian Watson returned from an ACL injury, and rookie Matthew Golden could be in for an expanded role.

Romeo Doubs has done plenty to prove that he’s worth keeping around, and Jayden Reed will return from injury at some point.

But there is a chance the Packers will regret not doing more to give Love what he needs, especially after such a disappointing home loss and with the Philadelphia Eagles up next in Week 10.
