Steve Kerr Reveals Surprising Warriors Star Who’s Been ‘Fantastic’ This Season

Ever wondered what it takes for a player to flip the script and suddenly become the linchpin of a team that seemed already crowned with stars? Well, Jonathan Kuminga might just be that surprise twist for the Golden State Warriors this season. With the Warriors kicking off a promising 3-1 run, everyone’s eyes are glued on the usual suspects—Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler—but there’s been a fresh buzz swirling around Kuminga. You can almost feel the electricity when Steve Kerr praises him for the “way he’s attacking the rim” and transforming the team. Is this the breakout we’ve been waiting to see from the 23-year-old forward who nearly packed his bags for greener pastures? Let’s dive into how Kuminga’s hunger and hustle are making the Warriors reconsider their playbook—and maybe, just maybe, keeping a game-changer right where he belongs.

With a 3-1 start to the season, the Golden State Warriors are currently looking like one of the strongest teams in the Western Conference.

Of course, players like Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler are receiving a lot ot attention and praise, but several stars are pushing the team forward.

Speaking to the press, head coach Steve Kerr had nothing but good things to say about Jonathan Kuminga, whose future with the team remains up in the air.

“[Jonathan Kuminga] has been fantastic. The way he’s rebounding, the way he’s attacking the rim, that’s what makes him special. When he’s playing to that talent, to that ability, it changes our team. He’s been great,” Kerr said.

On Monday night, Kuminga led his team with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists as the Warriors took down the Memphis Grizzlies 131-118.

So far this season, the 23-year-old forward has averaged 18.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists on 58.1 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from beyond the three-point line.

All summer long, Warriors fans waited patiently to get an update on Kuminga.

According to reports, he wanted a bigger role and more responsibilities and was more than willing to move to another team in order to get them.

Ultimately, he signed a new deal with the Warriors, but most people still assumed he’d be leaving Golden State at the trade deadline.

But his start to the season has cast those assumptions in doubt.

Kuminga is obviously dedicated and driven to playing well, and he has been nothing but a big asset to the Warriors.

Therefore, there is a chance the front office decides to keep him around.

Kerr, who has reportedly had a prickly relationship with Kuminga, is very happy with what he’s seen so far.

He’s not the only one, because this is what Warriors fans have wanted from Kuminga for so long.
