Tennessee fans are understandably a little bitter about Nico Iamaleava‘s exit from the Volunteers program.

After pulling one of college football’s first high-profile NIL holdouts, the former five-star QB was effectively dismissed from UT and will now hit the transfer portal.

“No one’s ever bigger than the program,” head coach Josh Heupel said Saturday. “That includes me, too. We’ve got an opportunity. We’ve got a bunch of guys who are going to give their all for Tennessee. We move forward. We’ve got a great group. Let’s go compete.”

That led to some Vols fans making a NSFW play on Iamaleava’s name during Saturday’s spring game, which quickly went viral around the college football world:

“This is hilarious,” a user laughed.

“Imagine being a maverick and vol fan and having a Nico [expletive] them over,” another replied.

“Tennessee spring game today and the Nico Iamaleava jersey burnings have started,” OutKick shared.

“I never like to wish bad upon another man, but I genuinely hope Nico Iamaleava never puts on another college football jersey,” another person commented. “I’m not a Tennessee fan. I have no other personal bias towards him. Him not signing a new ‘deal’ to play somewhere else would be best for CFB long term.”

“me buying a nico iamaleava jersey last year,” a fan cried.
