Texas A&M Unveils 2025-2026 Basketball Schedule: Key Matchups and Broadcast Details That Could Change Everything

The buzz around Texas A&M’s basketball program is electric as they gear up for the 2025-2026 season, welcoming Bucky McMillan as their new head coach. Taking over the reins from Buzz Williams after six seasons, McMillan brings a fresh offensive mindset that Aggie fans have been craving, especially those fatigued by last year’s spotty shooting from beyond the arc. It’s clear this squad aims to light up the scoreboard, spearheaded by impressive transfers like Mackenzie Mgbako from Indiana and Creighton’s Pop Issacs—both set to take the spotlight at the upcoming SEC Media Days. Depth doesn’t take a backseat here either; standout additions such as guard Jacari Lane and the sharpshooting Spanish guard Ruben Dominguez, hailed by McMillan as one of the planet’s best shooters, fortify the roster’s promise. Compared to prior campaigns, the nonconference schedule looks a bit more forgiving, with highlights including matchups against Oklahoma State and Florida State—all televised nationally to boot. With every SEC game broadcast across major networks, Aggie fans will be glued to their screens eager to witness this new era unfold. The season feels ripe for an offensive resurgence, and honestly, I can’t wait to see how this all shakes out. LEARN MORE

Texas A&M’s 2025-2026 basketball season will be the first under first-year head coach Bucky McMillan, who will succeed Buzz Williams after six seasons. Under McMillan, offense is the name of the game, which will be a sight for sore eyes among the Aggie fan base, who grew tired of the lack of offensive consistency, especially from 3-point range.

Well, get ready for a lot of scoring, as McMillan has put together a highly competent roster led by Indiana transfer forward Mackenzie Mgbako and Creighton transfer guard Pop Issacs, who, along with their head coach, will represent the Aggies during next week’s SEC Media Days.

From a depth perspective, other key transfers include guard Jacari Lane, small forward Rylan Griffen, forward Federiko Federiko, and, most importantly, based on what we’ve heard this month, Spanish guard Ruben Dominguez, who has been hailed as one of the “best shooters in the world” by McMillan.

Compared to last season, Texas A&M’s nonconference schedule isn’t brutal. It does include games against Oklahoma State, Florida State, Pitt, SMU, and UCF, all of which are winnable, even for a team that has yet to take the court together outside of practice. On Friday, the official times and channel information for every game, including all 18 SEC matchups, were released.

As you can see, four of the five critical nonconference matchups will be nationally broadcast. In contrast, every single one of Texas A&M’s conference games will be broadcast on either the SEC Network, ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU.
