Texas Makes Surprise 2027 RB Offer, Shaking Up North Carolina Recruiting Scene

The Texas Longhorns have kicked off their 2027 recruiting haul with a solid pledge in four-star linebacker Taven Epps — but that’s just the appetizer. This week, the coaching staff made a noticeable play to juice up their roster by tossing an offer to a promising running back, Amir Brown. Ranked No. 317 nationally and the 23rd-best at his position by 247Sports composites, Brown’s no stranger to competition, especially in his native North Carolina, where he holds the No. 11 spot. Coming off a standout year at Rolesville High School, the 5-foot-11, 205-pounder has shown versatility, racking up yards both on the ground and out of the backfield catching passes. With a laundry list of about 30 offers from some prestige programs like Notre Dame and Ohio State, the Longhorns have their work cut out to reel him in, making an official visit a must sooner rather than later. This week, they made efforts to bolster their class for that cycle by offering four-star running back Amir Brown.Brown has 30 offers from some of the elite programs in the country like Notre Dame, Ohio State, Georgia, Florida State, Oregon, and more. With that being said, the Longhorns need to get him on campus for an official visit soon.

The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder is coming off a productive campaign for Rolesville High School. He averaged 6.6 yards per carry on 93 attempts as he racked up 612 yards and scored 11 touchdowns. Brown was also effective as a pass catcher with 269 yards on 15 receptions and two scores.
