The Green Bay Packers defense has found a reliable anchor in cornerback Keisean Nixon entering the 2025 season.

The 28-year-old secured his role as a starting cornerback after signing a contract extension in 2024.

Nixon posted career highs last season with 88 tackles, 3.0 sacks, and seven pass defenses while transitioning from slot to perimeter coverage.

That shift has allowed him to leverage his strengths more effectively on the boundary, and his responsibilities continue growing.

Nixon’s coverage metrics this season reflect his growing impact on the field and demonstrate why the Packers invested in him long-term.

According to data shared by Packer Report’s Jacob Morley, Nixon ranks among the league’s best cornerbacks in several key categories through the early weeks.

Among corners with at least 150 coverage snaps, he has been targeted 23 times, ranking ninth, but has allowed only 12 completions, the fifth-lowest in the league.

His completion percentage against sits at 52.2%, highlighting his elite ability to contest passes effectively.

Nixon leads all cornerbacks with six forced incompletions and a 26% forced incompletion rate, the highest at his position.

He also leads with five pass breakups and has allowed zero touchdowns this season, a testament to his reliability.

Quarterbacks targeting him have posted a passer rating of just 68.9, the fourth-best mark in the league.

Beyond coverage, Nixon limits damage after the catch, allowing only 32 yards, which ranks fourth-lowest among cornerbacks.

His snap-to-reception ratio of 14.3 shows he prevents receivers from making consistent plays despite being targeted regularly.

He has also reduced penalties compared to last season, improving his discipline in critical moments.

Nixon continues solidifying himself as a cornerstone of Green Bay’s defense, consistently disrupting opponents and limiting big plays as the season progresses.
