Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Geno Smith continues to be one of the NFL’s most heartwarming comeback stories in recent memory, as the Raiders continued his run of good fortune by trading for him this offseason and giving him a two-year extension for $75 million.

After spending most of his career as a backup, Smith exploded onto the scene in 2022 with the Seattle Seahawks, and while he has generated some criticism over the past couple of years due to not matching the same level of production he reached in ’22, one stat shows how impressive he has been in one area since then.

The Raiders’ PR team shared on X that Smith’s 68.5 percent completion rate over the last three seasons is the third-best mark in the NFL among QBs with over 1,000 pass attempts.

Only Tua Tagovailoa and Joe Burrow rank slightly ahead of him, and now that Smith is operating within Chip Kelly’s offense with Pete Carroll serving as his head coach again, it’s possible that number could go up even more in 2025.

Las Vegas’ receiving corps has a lot of question marks outside of tight end Brock Bowers, who had a record-setting season for a rookie tight end last year, but Smith is just the type of veteran who can get the most out of these young receivers and help provide some much-needed stability to a team that hasn’t had it at the quarterback position since Derek Carr left.

Smith’s completion percentage reached a career-high 70.4 percent last year, and he threw for a career high of 4,320 yards.
