Tommy Tuberville’s Unexpected Political Ambition Sparks Speculation: What’s His Next Move?
According to the Associated Press, Tuberville has his eyes on the 2026 Alabama gubernatorial election and the vacant seat of Governor of Alabama. Incumbent governor Kay Ivey is midway through her second term and is not eligible to run for re-election in 2026. That opens the door for Tuberville (and others) to fill the vacancy.
“Republican U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, who entered politics after retiring as a college football coach, plans to run for governor of Alabama in 2026, according to people familiar with his plans,” the outlet reported.
