Top-20 Recruit Jaxon Richardson’s Louisville Visit: What Could This Mean for the Cardinals’ Future?

Jaxon Richardson, a standout wing from Columbus High School in Florida, is making waves again as he gears up for a pivotal official visit to Louisville this November 8. This 2026 four-star prospect has narrowed his college choices to a competitive top ten—including heavy hitters like USC, Michigan, Alabama, and Miami (FL)—but only six schools earned the honor of official fall visits. Kicking off the visits this weekend at Miami, Richardson’s touring schedule is packed with high-profile stops that could very well shape his basketball future. Standing 6-foot-6 and boasting a 200-pound frame, he’s not just any recruit; he’s ranked No. 20 nationally by Rivals’ Industry rankings and carries a remarkable basketball pedigree as the son of Jason Richardson, an NBA veteran. His athleticism and defensive prowess on the Nike EYBL circuit make him a player to watch—he’s a relentless rebounder and a highlight reel waiting to happen. Louisville already caught his eye last February during an unofficial visit, and this official trip could tip the scales. With football and basketball events lined up during that weekend, the Cards are pulling out all the stops to impress. This visit marks a key moment in Richardson’s recruitment journey, and trust me—you’ll want to keep tabs on how this story unfolds. LEARN MORE

Columbus HS (FL) four-star wing Jaxon Richardson has scheduled a Louisville visit, according to Sam Kayser.

The 2026 prospect cut his list of schools down to ten in July — USC, Michigan, Alabama, Seton Hall, Creighton, Ole Miss, Cincinnati, Villanova, and Miami (FL) all made the top ten, as well as the Cardinals. However, he’s only scheduled six fall official visits, the first of which comes this weekend.

His official visit schedule is the following:

  • Miami (FL) — September 6
  • Alabama — September 13
  • USC — September 20
  • Creighton — October 18
  • Ole Miss — November 1
  • Louisville — November 8

Louisville football hosts California the weekend Richardson is set to visit, and men’s basketball opens the season earlier that week, playing on November 3 & 6. It is unclear if Richardson will be at the November 6 basketball game against Jackson State.

Richardson has been on campus before, for an unofficial visit last February when the Cards hosted Florida State.

Rivals’ Industry rankings have the 6-foot-6, 200-pound small forward as the No. 20 player in the nation. Richardson is the son of former Michigan State and longtime NBA veteran Jason Richardson. Jaxon’s brother, Jase, was an elite freshman for the Spartans last season and was recently picked by the Orlando Magic in the first round of the NBA Draft.

Cardinal Sports’ scouting report: From an athleticism perspective, it doesn’t get much better than Richardson in the 2026 class. He’s a high-flyer who can play above the rim offensively and defensively at 6-foot-6. Playing for the Florida Rebels on the Nike EYBL circuit, Richardson has flashed this two-way prowess, but also his ability to change the game with his rebounding. Some weekends on the circuit, he’s averaged ten rebounds a game, and flies toward the glass on missed shots.
