Tragedy Strikes: Former College Football Star Collapses Mysteriously During Half Marathon at 31
The 2025 Brooklyn Half Marathon took place on Saturday, May 17. It was a hot and muggy day in New York City, with temperatures reaching the low 80s. Many runners struggled during the 13.1 mile race in Brooklyn.
Unfortunately, one runner collapsed and died during the race.
A 31-year-old man collapsed and died on the course. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we confirm the passing of one of today’s race participants,” New York Road Runners Chief Communications and Community Coordinator Crystal Howard said.
