Tim Strachan, a former star quarterback at the prestigious DeMatha High School in Maryland, died on Tuesday. He had been battling cancer. The University of Maryland alum had worked as a football broadcaster alongside the legendary Johnny Holiday.
The former star high school quarterback was one of the top recruits in the country heading into his senior season. However, on a family beach trip to Bethany Beach, Strachan suffered a career-ending injury. He dove into the surf and suffered a serious neck injury. He never played football again.
